These past couple of weeks, the children in Room 2 have been learning about using our 5 senses. We have had a pumpkin in our room and first we used our sense of sight to learn that the pumpkin was round, orange and had lines on it. We also learned that it had a stem on the top. Then we used our sense of touch to find out it was bumpy, hard and cold. On Friday we learned even more with our sense of touch. We found out the inside of the pumpkin is not at all like the outside! It is colder and wet. It is slimy and stringy. We also used our sense of smell when we cut the top off the pumpkin. Mr. Melby could even smell it from the hallway! Next week after our Halloween celebration we will use our sense of taste to learn what pumpkin tastes like in muffins. The children are excited that we can learn about things in so many ways! Posted by Picasa
