What can you learn from an M & M?

On Friday afternoon the kids in Room 2 had a special treat! We have been talking about the letter Mm this week and the sound that it makes. The kids brought lots of great things for show and tell, so Mrs. Bruno thought she would bring something, too! Each child got a packet of M & Ms and we talked about them. They each had many! Most of the candy pieces had a lowercase 'm' written on them. They were all round and we had lots of colors. Then we sorted them by colors and counted how many we had of each color. Everybody had something different!!

The kids colored a circle for each M & M of each color they got in their packets. That made a different graph for each of us! When we had eaten our candy with our milk, we all took our graphs to the carpet and shared what our graph told us! It was very exciting to hear the wonderful statements most of them made about what they could see on the graph! I hope you enjoy some of their comments listed here!
