School is so exciting!

Room 2 has learned so many things this week! We have talk about and built the letters A,B,C,D,E and F. We also started writing some of them on our slates. We are using our big lines and small lines to make E and F. Next week we will add the next 4 letters in the alphabet!

We are talking about patterns and will begin to build them next week. This is such an important part of our number system! We also are beginning to write our number. Parents, please be sure your child can orally count to 10 and can count objects up to 10. We also have been talking about shapes and colors.

The children have been working on communication skills this week in Room 2. We had our first public speaking opportunity (show and tell ;-0) and have been practicing telling others when they are bugging us. The children changed working places and that means new friends beside us. It takes a couple of days to get used to new things!

It was wonderful to see so many of you at the open house! Please keep in contact and ask those questions as they come up. No question is a silly one when it concerns your child.

What good books have you read at home lately? If you find any great books, please share the title and author with the rest of us. We all love to listen to new books!
