Kindergarten Kids is Up and Running Again!

It has been a long month and I have learned so many things about a web site!! I hope that all the bugs have been worked out and the camera is working correctly again.

The children have been working very hard and learning a great many new things. It is so exciting for me to see the growth of all of the children in Room 2. Many are reading our short vowel word families and sight words very well. The rest are progressing toward that goal. They are "stretching" out those sounds and writing some amazing sentences, too! I am not concerned with spelling at this time, but want the children to use the letters and sounds they hear to create words. If they write 'frm' for farm, I am delighted that they can hear those three sounds and put them together. When they are writing the letters to represent the sounds they hear, those connections will be permenant! Please encourage your child to write at home and use the sounds they hear.
