A Brand New Year is About to Begin!

The 2007-2008 school year is starting this week at Lincoln Elementary School. It will be a very exciting time in Room 2! We are going to be a full-day Kindergarten program! We begin the week with an open house on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 with our new principal, Mr. Lynn sharing with all of us ar 5:30. We will be having 2 sessions in Room 2--at 4:30 and again at 6:00. You are welcome to come to either time and learn about our classroom. We will find the classroom, our coat hooks, chairs, and tables, put out our supplies, meet some new friends and get our pictures taken. Parents will have time to ask any questions they may have, to put money into lunch accounts, and buy milk tickets. We have found that the open house before classes begin makes the opening day much easier for both students and parents!

Tuesday, the school staff will have a workshop at the high school with other schools from around the area.

Then comes Wednesday! I never know who is more excited for the first day, the children, the parents, or me! I just love the excitement of a new year! We will have a regular day with the bell ringing at 8:10 and the children coming in the door on Valentine Street. We will have many activities that will help us to get to know the classroom, the school, the other staff and each other that day. We will also get to go to both music and PE classes that first day. We will go to lunch at 11:10 (I am encouraging parents to send a cold lunch that day to make the lunchroom experience a little easier on the children.) and will end the day at 3:05. Parents are asked to drop off and pick-up their Kindergarteners that day.
