Pumpkin Time!

The kids in Room 2 had a great pumpkin this year and we estimated how much it weighed and how big around it was. Both jobs were pretty hard to do! Then we made it into a jack-o-lantern! We voted on the shape of the eyes, nose and mouth and then started carving! We cut off the top and it was full of seeds. The kids guessed everywhere from 14 seeds inside to 107. Then we started pulling the 'guts' out! Some of us loved the feel of the seeds and strings and some did not!!
Here are our triangle eyes, our circle nose and our smiling mouth with teeth!

Then we counted the seeds in groups of 10. Can you believe there were 655 seeds in our p 14 pound pumpkin? We saved some of them to plant next spring and the rest we used for a pumpkin adding game. Oh, Halloween is fun!
